Julian Potvin-Bernal

Julian Potvin-Bernal holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering (magna cum laude) from the University of Ottawa. Five years spent working in medical device development has enabled him to expand his skills in industry, including project management and design for manufacture and usability. Passions for behavioural design as well as the advancement of sustainability and a circular economy led him to pursue an MASc in the Collaborative Specialization in Psychology and Engineering (PsychEng) Program under the supervision of Professor Li Shu (Director of the Psychology-Informed Engineering Design Laboratory, PIEDLab). Julian seeks to evaluate implementations of psychology principles in engineering design for their ability to measurably influence users to form significant waste-reducing habits.
