Seminar/Workshop Description:
In the lead up to earth day (22 April 2025), this event will focus on how we can each perform more pro-environmental behaviours.
We will discuss:
1) typical obstacles to
2) different possible sources of motivation for, and
3) concrete steps that we can take to increase
pro-environmental behaviours in ourselves and possibly others.
Parents, students and staff are welcome to participate.

Biography: Professor Li Shu completed her graduate studies in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She then joined the faculty at the University of Toronto, where she created and directs the Collaborative Specialization in Psychology, Psychiatry and Engineering (PsychEng). Her research involves identifying and incorporating results of psychology research to enhance creative productivity in the engineering-design process, and to develop design concepts that support pro-environmental behaviour.
She has been honored with a number of domestic and international awards, including a CIRP Taylor Medal, and numerous best paper awards. She has held leadership positions in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and is a fellow of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP).
